Approximately 60 percent of men and 40 percent of women experience hair loss of some kind in their life. For many, when surgery is not an option, there are several effective non-surgical treatments available.

Here's a selected list of the most popular and effective non-surgical treatments available for hair loss:

Level Laser Therapy

Low-level laser light therapy or LLLT for short is a FDA-cleared hair regrowth treatment that uses low-level laser light energy to stimulate hair follicles by increasing the delivery of oxygen and nutrients. Studies into this treatment have revealed as much as a 39% hair regrowth across just 19 weeks of treatment, thanks to easy-use laser devices that work to both reverse and restore natural hair growth cycles.

PRP injections

Platelet Rich Plasma, otherwise known as PRP, is a wound-healing technology combined with platelet rich blood derived from your own blood. PRP injections trigger natural hair growth and maintain it by increasing blood supply to the hair follicle and increasing the thickness of the hair shaft. Sometimes this approach is combined with other hair loss procedures or medications.

Hair Growth Tablets and Topicals

Finasteride and Rogaine (minoxidil) are no longer the only non-surgical options for those interested in trying a treatment in pill form. There is a growing number of affordable consumer-based hair growth tablets and topicals available for both men and women.

Deciding on the best one for your hair loss may take a bit of research. Results may take weeks and will vary, but the good news is that most avoid the side effects sometimes cited with the use of minoxidil. Many of these products use formulas that provide your hair with essential nutrients and peptides that help thicken, fortify and hydrate your hair.

Consult with your trichologist or dermatologist to further explore some of the non-surgical treatments that may be a good fit for your hair loss case.
