Exosomes and Hair Growth

Exosome are nanoparticles carrying important signaling proteins from cell to cell. They can have a variety of therapeutic substances injected into them, such as stem cells from bone marrow, placental cord, and other growth factors that promote cell growth. These extracellular vesicles are then introduced to other cells in the body to target a specific therapy. In the case of hair growth, exosomes can strengthen hair follicles and keep them stronger for a longer period of time.

The use of exosomes to stimulate hair growth is an exciting non-surgical, regenerative therapy. But what exactly are exosomes and how do they help to restore hair growth?

Essentially, exosome are nanoparticles carrying important signaling proteins from cell to cell. These micro-vesicles contain messenger RNA, responsible for the amino acid building blocks which signals the cells in your body to perform certain regenerative tasks, and micro RNA, an anti-inflammatory that combats any hair loss due to inflammation, stress, injury, and even pollution.

Exosomes tell your tissues how to be young again.

They can be applied topically usually in the form of a serum, or via injection directly to the scalp. Most treatments including the relatively painless injection of exosomes through micro-needling to targeted areas around the scalp. Improvements in hair growth can be seen within 4-6 weeks, with real ingrowth and thicker hair occurring around 2 to 3 months. One treatment using exosomes can generate results last over 2 years, making it one of the most highly performing products in hair restoration. Exosome are also use as hair aesthetic post procedure applications, to help expedite the desire effects of the treatment, and in assist in reducing post procedure downtime and burning sensation.

Although still considered an experimental therapy, exosomes are a safe and natural product used in the treatment of hair loss. Exosomes from adipose-derived stem cells have been shown to positively affect hair regrowth and ongoing clinical studies have shown promising results.

Consult with your trichologist about the benefits of exosomes for your hair growth journey.
